ABOUT THE ARTIST

Herm Weber is an architect, one of the founders of Weber Murphy Fox, with offices in Erie, Pennsylvania; State College, Pennsylvania; Cleveland, Ohio; and Charlotte, North Carolina.  His designs have won numerous local and regional design awards.

He has taught architectural design at the University of Kentucky, Penn State University, and Chiang Mai University in Chiang Mai, Thailand, and serves as juror and advisor at the Mercyhurst University Department of Interior Design and Pre-Architecture.

ABOUT THE WORK

Herm Weber's recent paintings are the result of his interest in photography and his extensive travel throughout and Asia, Europe, Africa, North America, and the Pacific.

His process starts with carefully composed digital photos, which are then "pushed and pulled" in Photoshop, and often included as collage elements in the finished paintings. Though not architectural in the narrow sense, Herm Weber's paintings rely on composition, the use of light, layering, and repetition of elements and forms that are reflections of his architectural background. 

His paintings have been exhibited in numerous shows, and have won an Award at the Erie Art Museums 2018 Spring Show, an Award at the Erie Art Museum 2019 Spring show, Best in Show at the 2016 Erie Arts Festival Panorama Show, and Directors Award at the 2014 Panorama show.
