Barbara returned to Pittsburgh in 2013 after living in Budapest Hungary, Albany NY, and Providence RI. Over the past several years, she's been pushing the boundaries between various art processes... photography, mixed media photo collage, and mixed media painting on paper. Through this process she finds new life in her work by combining and merging different processes.

In 2011-2013, Barbara left art-making behind (but took her camera) when she moved to Budapest Hungary to teach English as a foreign language. Much of the work she has been doing in photo collage is from photographs she took of statuary while living in Hungary.

Prior to Budapest, she lived in Albany NY (2007-2011), where she was a member of the Upstate Artist Guild, the River Front Art Cooperative, and the Saratoga Arts Council.

Providence RI was her home from 2001-2007. During her time there she was selected to be on the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts Artist-Educator Roster. Through arts council funding, she facilitated weekly art workshops with newly arrived refugees and immigrants at a community literacy center as a way to approach language learning. She exhibited her work at the Holden Street Gallery in Providence, DeBlois Gallery in Newport, and at Gallery Night Providence.

Her art had been available in Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts Gift Shop and GalleriE CHIZ until their closings in 2019 and 2017.

Barbara is a member of the Pittsburgh Society of Artists.

She has an undergraduate degree in Art Education plus graduate studies in printmaking from Indiana University of PA, and a graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Carlow University.
